August is fast approaching and that means the Dog Days of Summer. But I'll live with those. It's a darn site better than the dole-drums of February in Ohio. The Sturgis Rally is coming soon as well. Tip #1: Don't let the crowds keep you from going. Consider staying south of Sturgis along Rte 385 in Hot Springs.
Tip #2: Plan your days; especially if you are going to be there for 5 days or more. With planning you can do so much than just hang out in the general vicinity of Sturgis.
Tip #3: If you're coming from the east it's going to take a full days ride just to cross S. Dakota. Consider the southern route along Ret 50 out of Yankton to Ret 18. I-90 is a drag so why endure a day of that when you can enjoy a real adventure cruisin' the interior.
